All participants are expected to follow these standards while at the Teen Center: 

Expectations: 

• Show courtesy and respect at all times, even when others do not. 

• Behave responsibly and use self-control. 

• Dress in a way that is appropriate and respectful. 

• Respect the rights and privileges of other participants and Teen Center staff. 

• Respect the property of others, as well as all CYI property and facilities. 

• Use technology, publications, and confidential information responsibly and appropriately. 

• Cooperate with Teen Center staff in maintaining safety, order, and discipline.

Unacceptable Behaviors: The following actions are not allowed: 

• Showing disrespect to Teen Center staff. 

• Ignoring or refusing to follow CYI Teen Center policies. 

• Using profanity, vulgar language, or obscene gestures. 

• Possessing, using, or being involved with drugs, alcohol, tobacco (including chewing, smoking, or vaping), or weapons. These items are strictly prohibited on CYI property. 

• Damaging, defacing, or stealing property belonging to CYI or others. 

• Engaging in inappropriate physical or verbal contact. 

• Running, pushing, fighting, littering, or throwing objects outside of supervised activities. 

• Making loud, rude, or disruptive noises. 

Possible Consequences: If a participant engages in unacceptable behavior, one or more of the following actions may occur: 

• Meeting with staff to discuss the behavior. 

• Meeting with staff and the participant’s parent or legal guardian. 

• Restriction from the Teen Center if behavior continues or if a parent/guardian will not meet. 

• Suspension or expulsion from the Teen Center. 

• Requirement to pay for damages (restitution). 

• Notification of law enforcement.
